The Clown watch by Konstantin Chaykin is presented at the auction. It is the No. 0 from the limited edition of 27 pieces.
The Clown is the second watch from the Wristmons collection, created in 2017 This model made the collection of "monsters on the wrist" popular worldwide and gained recognition of experts in the watchmaking industry — it was awarded the Geneva Grand Prix of Haute Horlogerie GPHG in the category "Audacity Prize".
When it comes to the Clown watch, its features show a hint of mockery and irony. The dial is white and resembles a circus makeup.
Pupils are of "alarming" bright yellow hue. The round nose is red, and the "mouth" (a moonphase indicator) is also outlined red. It teases the owner with its playful "tongue".
Though the Wristmon has extraordinary looks, Chaykin used classical horological and decorative techniques: fine longitudinal and circular grinding, manual chamfering and polishing, guilloché, abrasive treatment, pad printing, lacquering, silvering and rhodium-plating. This makes the Clown watch a true work of Haute Horlogerie.
